Mathew MacfieMatt Macfie started his career with Gallagher as a Territory Manager for the Central Waikato region in 2001. Before that his work experience included roles with a large carpet manufacturer and an international milking machinery company. He also had two stints of OE. Matt was appointed a Key Account Manager in 2004 and looks after three major national accounts. “That’s a big responsibility, and its one that I really enjoy.” In April 2008, he became a Regional Sales Manager which extends his account management responsibilities to managing the sales team in the Taranaki, Waikato and Northland regions. He also organises Gallagher’s promotional activities at three annual regional field days around the country and, of course, the National Fieldays at Mystery Creek. This gives him the opportunity to unleash some of his creative talent. “I like to think outside of the box, even if some of my ideas get me into trouble from time to time.” Matt and wife Kim live in Hamilton but are currently planning their dream house on a section on the outskirts of town. Matt is “fishing mad” and also plays social basketball. He is also a keen rugby man, playing since the age of four but retiring four years ago “after it started taking about eight days to recover from each game”. |
