Geoff PoochGeoff Pooch is a Technical Support Manager for Gallagher Animal Management. A key part of this office–based role includes being at the end of a phone line when Gallagher customers need help with Gallagher EID or weigh scale products. “I think a lot of people find computer software quite scary,” says Geoff “but it’s my job to put the techno-speak into plain language that everyone can understand.” Geoff’s skill in this area was honed during a career as a computer programmer and trainer for a number of large organisations. He joined Gallagher in 2006 as a business analyst/software designer and was promoted to the role of product manager for Gallagher weigh scale and EID systems in 2007. This has given him an excellent knowledge of the products. As well as working with farmers, he also trains Gallagher Territory Managers and Gallagher resellers. Geoff says modern technology makes it possible to provide excellent technical assistance from afar. “It’s almost like I’m there beside them, and I really enjoy helping people to use their products to their best advantage.” Geoff and wife Christine live on a lifestyle block near Rotorua. “We call it the ‘Lake District’. It’s a beautiful spot and it’s close to our grandchildren.” |
