Chris RichardsA qualified tour guide, Chris Richards shouldn’t have any trouble finding his way around the Canterbury region. Raised in a sheep and beef farming district near Nelson, Chris studied tourism at Polytech in Christchurch before moving into rural retail. Prior to joining Gallagher he worked for CRT in Canterbury for eight years, the last three as a technical field officer covering a range of farming types. This brought him into close contact with the Gallagher range of animal management products and he developed a genuine respect for the company. “Gallagher has always been a strong market leader and never stands still when it comes to developing new technology. The people are great and the products are second to none.” The Gallagher Territory Manager position was “the job I have been waiting for for a long time” and Chris says he enjoys the challenge of getting out on farm and helping farmers to find innovative solutions to their animal management problems. Gallagher now has four Territory Managers in the South Island and Chris covers the diverse farming region that spans from Parnassus in the north to Temuka in the south. He is based in Christchurch where he lives with partner Kelly and their two black Labradors, Jake and Tess. Chris is a big rugby fan and since retiring through injury remains involved in the sport by coaching the Hornby Senior Women’s side. He also enjoys snowboarding and mountain biking.
